Sparkling Snow

Sparkling Snow Winter Contest Entry jpg

At the end of 2018 three long-running quality fashion bloggers (Cosmetic LotRO, Material Middle-Earth, and Wandering around Arda) got together to host a Yule Outfit contest.  The above screenie was my own entry 🙂  The competition was fierce, and the three top outfits selected as winners definitely deserved the honors – congratulations to them!   Many of the other entries were also of very high quality also – if you did not check out the link posted to view them all and you want to please click here.

I wanted to share my own entry, some additional shots, and outfit details before the true winter was over in my part of the world, so now is the time.  I decided to add in a couple of pets, because they are not only thematically appropriate – they are also cute!

Warden in the Hollin – Legendary Edition

Burgundy 8

When I started on Anor I decided I wanted to see if I could put a more serious effort into the Warden class.  Hence Tamar Erynrian – the High Elf warden – was born.  I still don’t know if I totally understand all my gambits and the most effective ways to chain the skills, but I do know I am having fun with her!

Burgundy 3

As with my previous Legendary server outfit post – this is created solely by gear that is available via world drop, outfit vendor, barter vendor, or festival.  I’m doing my best to avoid items from the stores (including Lalia’s).  This also includes limiting the dye choices to ones currently available via crafting or what festivals have thus far occurred.

By the Deep Blue Sea

Isilmearon was the first High Elf character I made, and she was named for her connections to the sea and moon (two connections I have always loved).  Even her War-steed’s name – Gwingil – reflects this love of the sea. She has always been drawn to the sea, even before the call to come home started to strengthen.  While she hears it, she continues to resist.  However she cannot resist the call of the gulls, the splash of the waves, the endless blue skies, the sparkle of sunlight on the constantly moving waters…

There are some dangers though along the coast, so she does not go unarmed and unaware.

Rivendell Set in Grey

As a reminder to folks looking for the pieces, Ceremonial means I bought it from Lalia’s market.  These items are also found as barter or quest pieces, so if you are searching the Wiki for them leave off the Ceremonial part 🙂

Winter Fashion from Anor

I’ve been exploring and playing on Anor in addition to my normal Evernight activities.  As others have noted, being fashionable on the legendary servers without resorting to store purchases or already existing sets can be challenging.  Add in the more limited dye selection (again only true if you are trying to avoiding store purchases) for even a bit more challenge 🙂

I have been slowly gathering festival cosmetics, quest gear, and dropped gear and storing it all away in my wardrobe.  While I’ve not yet been excited over the  quest and dropped options, I did put together a couple of festival-based outfits for two of my characters.

This is the outfit I put together for my main – a High Elf Warden

I have seen many variations on both of these, many to very good effect!  Fashion is subjective, so find what works best for you and go for it!

Blue Winter

I usually try to introduce my models before featuring them, but I have not written up a proper introduction yet for this one – yet I had come up with a wonderful outfit I wanted to show off.  I ended my dilemma by deciding to feature the outfit before introducing my new High Elf.  At some point you will get the official introduction for her, but for now enjoy the lovely looks of Isilmearon in Blue Winter!

Her outfit is:
Chest – Robe of the Flowered Vale dyed Belegaer Blue
Shoulders – Fur Mantle
Head – Woodland Crown
Feet – Shoes of the Learned Stag dyed Belegaer Blue
Gloves – Wildemore Survivor’s Light Gloves dyed Belegaer Blue
Back – Cloak of Narie dyed Belegaer Blue

I really like the new cosmetics released this past Yule festival, especially the shoulders and crown.  I wanted to see how they worked with some of the other wintry themed items lurking around in the vaults when I re-encountered this robe.  The bits of fur trim on it made it a pleasing choice, and the belegaer blue dye works well with all the pieces.  I debated on the cloak, as there are a few that could be used, but ultimately settled on the Cloak of Narie due to the nice blend of blues, grays, and browns that compliment the rest of the pieces.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and play around to find your style!
